As a supplier, why do I need a digital interface?
In the future, dealers will mainly order from suppliers who offer digital interfaces. The human time required to manually create and update inventories and delivery stocks is now simply too much for many dealers.
What is Veloconnect?
Veloconnect has long been the standard in the bicycle industry for B2B communication between suppliers and retailers. This interface handles the ordering process between retailers and suppliers via the respective merchandise management system and can transmit catalog data and information (stocks, availability, etc.).
What is velo.API?
Together with Bike&Co, Tridata GmbH has further developed the Veloconnect in-terface and equipped it with additional new functions that are essential for the bike industry today. This has resulted in a new, Europe-wide digital standard for article data and order management between suppliers and dealers – velo.API.
velo.API is a specification whose purpose is that systems developed independently of one another, for example a supplier’s ERP system with a retailer’s ERP system, can communicate with each other smoothly.
what are the advantages of velo.API?
A velo.API server is a cloud platform that offers all relevant functions that are required for digital exchange between dealers and suppliers. In this way you can offer your customers the best possible service and at the same time save a lot of working time on the dealer and supplier side. In addition, a velo.API server also contains a fully functional Veloconnect interface. It is therefore irrelevant which interface your customer uses, with a velo.API server you always fulfill both interface formats.*
*Tridata will not implement Veloconnect 1.3 and 1.4 functions in its own ERP/POS systems, as this is not necessary due to the much larger range of functions of velo.API and is also not in demand by the market.
can an existing Veloconnect interface continue to be used?
Yes, all suppliers who already have a Veloconnect interface can continue to operate it and additionally use all velo.API functions. Tridata offers a function add-on for this, which can be integrated without much effort. No server move is necessary! Nevertheless, we recommend using the velo.API format directly for a modern range of functions that is already available.
